Gardenborn: Knights of the Green (Ashcan Edition)

Took me a hot minute, but here it is: an ashcan version of Gardenborn, complete with homemade illustrations! Gardenborn is a game for a GM and 2-5 players about chivalry, plants, and bravery in the face of the apocalypse, as you journey across a dense forest as a party of verdant knights. This file contains everything you need to start your own campaign in the world of Gardenborn, plus PDFs for character sheets and a moves sheet. There's also a demo file here as well, containing the sheets I used to test the game with friends!

a really charming game! plant knights are such a cute idea, and i loved the ways this individualizes itself from other pbta games. i thought the bug companions, weapon crafting, and travel montages were particularly cool! i also like that you get rewards from taking a risk or sacrificing something for your chivalric deed. nice job!
thank you! Weapon crafting was a particularly fun thing to design, and in my play tests originally only one player could have a companion -- but since everybody wanted one I had to improve that!
player companions are so much fun! unfortunately as a gm i always forget they exist. gms who can skillfully work in all the companion animals have all my respect
